Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) is an organization which set the foundations for the beach soccer and played a pivotal role in the growth of its popularity. The founding partners of BSWW wrote the laws of beach soccer in 1992; BSWW officially came into existence in 2001. With the increase of popularity of beach soccer, FIFA built a partnership with BSWW in 2005. It adopted an official version of beach soccer and assumed governing responsibility of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup while BSWW remained the only agency controlling all remaining activities in beach soccer worldwide.
